A lady Helen K went above and beyond to check my symptoms and thoroughly checked me over. Rechecked a previous X-ray and repeated it today. Explained what she believed was my symptoms and reassured me.
Excellent member of staff with compassion and time to make patient feel at ease. A lot of members of the nhs could really learn a lot from this lady.
My son was referred to urgent care via the paramedic who visited him at home, great service from him. Urgent Care were really good aswell, nurses and doctor very friendly. They referred him to same day emergency care. Nurses there excellent, he was put on a drip, given iv antibiotics and bloods taken promptly, excellent. There, it all came to a standstill unfortunately. Nurses had done all this by 10pm on Sunday night after we had arrived on site at approx 8pm. At 4am, we still hadn't seen any doctor to tell us the blood results or discuss treatment, I had spoken to the nurses a couple of times. Exhausted and needing to sleep, I took my son home at 4.30am as the nurse said he had very much improved but we still may have to wait for a doctor for many hours as there were only 2 on the whole department. We agreed the blood results would go to his gp and to make an apt with our local gp the next day. We did do that but no results were on my sons records? Gp could not access then, we still don't have them and I don't know how he can get them, help appreciated please. My Dr needs to see them to know how best to treat my son and she can't ask directly for them either which seems very odd?
I am an NHS staff in another hospital but I found your A&El EXCELLENT.
The last time I saw such brilliant A&E was about 35years ago. Your nurses, the ambulance workers, security workers were all brilliant. I was shocked to see tea and coffee being served to everyone.
I wish all hospitals in UK are like yours.
EXCELLENT BRILLIANT XXXXXXXXXX
Although the time we sent from arrival to diagnosis was 14 hours we were seen and cared for by the staff. An emergency operation for my husband was done at 2am. The doctors and nurses were run off their feet but gave us time and explained everything that was going to happen. Cannot fault the care we were given.
The coffee and tea trolley that came round was very welcomed.
I was attended to on time. The procedure carried out was explained to me in a professional manner.
I was very impressed with the care I was given by the medical & surgical staff, nursing staff and everyone else including physio, catering, cleaning. It seems to me that it was a great team working well together.
Everyone in the department tried to make my sons hospital experience as positive as possible.
A special mention to Chantel on the play team who was a god send when he had to have a blood test- my son was extremely traumatised from already having cannulas and she really tried to help the situation.
Blessing and Faith nurses were also incredible at their job, Blessing was so helpful especially with the discharge. Blessing and Faith both tried to ensure my son was as comfortable as possible when completing obs etc.
Helen who I think was the cleaner came in to see my son before, after and during her shift, she made my sons experience so amazing and she is a complete asset to your team.
I visited A&E at what was a very traumatic time but the nurses and clinicians were so very kind to me and seemed to show genuine care and concern. The team involved in my care were very responsive and worked swiftly as I was in excruciating pain. I have to give a special mention to Emma in A&E as she made a big impression with her care and compassion.
Staff were very kind and friendly. The Consultant kept me well informed throughout the procedure.
Oncologist Dr Christos Nikolaou was very thorough, informative and helpful. All questions were answered and he made me feel at ease with the process and what to look forward to.
I am confident that he would take good care of me.
